Detached House, Porto

Private Residence
Bedroom with cream bouclé bed, open dark wood wardrobe and a window looking over the city

Facing the striking Dom Luís I Bridge over the River Douro, this suite strictly challenged Madeira Negra to frame the view without competing with the vastness of the landscape. We designed the layout around a dramatic central structure: a double headboard in cream bouclé upholstery acting as an architectural room divider, shielding a masterful open wardrobe crafted from solid walnut panelling with illuminated shelves and rails. The careful spatial curation merges avant-garde patterned cushions with exquisite vintage-coloured hanging glass lamps — one amber, one peridot — conceiving a luxurious refuge that pays homage to the riverside soul.
